Now that your account has been created, the company will be able to add funds to your Travel Expense Account. You will receive an email notification like the one below once your virtual credit card has been created. Please note, you will not receive a physical credit card, as those are easy to lose and we wanted to simplify the process for you.

You will pay for your travel expenses with an item you always have with you, your cell phone. Emburse works with both Apple Wallet and Google Pay. We will be going through the steps on how to add funds from your Travel Expense Account to your phone in the next section.

To add your virtual card number to your Apple Wallet on your iPhone do the following:

  1. Before you open your Apple Wallet app on your iPhone, make sure all of your virtual card numbers are visible. If they are not, click the lock that appears next to the last 4 digits of the card.
  2. Locate Apple Wallet on your phone. If you cannot locate it, swipe right and you should see a search bar. Type in Apple Wallet and it will show up under “Apps”. It is installed by default on all iPhones, so even if you cannot locate the icon, it should still be on your iPhone.
  3. Click on the + button on the upper right-hand side of your screen
  4. Under “Card Type”, select “Credit or Debit” card
  5. Under “Pay” click “Continue”
  6. Hold your iPhone up to your computer screen and if all of your credit card numbers are visible, it will automatically enter your card number into Apple Wallet
  7. Next, you will get a series of screens that will ask you to enter “Card Details”, but if you have scanned the card, those details will populate automatically.
  8. Keep tapping next until you get to the “Terms and Conditions” page and tap “Agree”.
  9. After that, you should see a screen that says “Card Details” and underneath should say “Adding to Wallet…”
  10. The next screen will say “Card Verification” and ask you to choose how to verify your card for Apple Pay. A text message verification is selected by default, so please use that method.
  11. You will receive a verification code to your phone via text and the iPhone should automatically put the code in for you once the text is received.
  12. You will be asked for your CVV number (located on your virtual card underneath the card number) and then be taken to a screen where you can choose if you want to use Face ID and add this credit card to your Apple Watch (if you have one).

  3. Tap Add a card and then Debit or credit card
  4. Use the camera to capture your card info or enter it manually

This section will show you how to upload the required receipts. Let’s get started.

Here is an example of how the process will work.

You purchase breakfast for $13.50. A receipt requirement for meals is set for all purchases over $10.

Once you make the purchase with your Emburse Travel Expense Account, the following will happen:

1. You will receive an email and/or text message with a unique link to reconcile the transaction on the spot. No login is required.

2. You can choose from a couple of methods to upload the receipt, including:

a. opening the camera app on their device
b. uploading a screenshot from the computer

3. Once a photo is taken, the receipt is automatically linked with the transaction.

After the receipt is submitted, you have the option to use the same link to access the transaction and make any necessary changes.
